Character sketch for a steampunk-themed short graphic novel.

Admiral Hephaestus gets lonely on his airship, and so he brings his young, pretty (some say, trophy) wife along to be company for him on the endless patrols of British airspace. Butr when a French privateer attacks, the Admiral's wife gets terribly burned and apart from being horribly disfigured, is also a quadruple amputee. The Admiral spends nearly all of his inheritance on medical care and retires from the navy to look after his wife. He engages the services of an inventor to restore to his wife the function of her limbs. But Hephaestus' wife was a proud and slightly vain woman and is terribly ashamed of her new body. Eventually, though, years later, her self-esteem returns, though from a humbler source, due to the patient love of her now-elderly husband. He dies of a lung fever when his wife is in her mid-thirties, and she is freed in many ways from the problems of her earlier life. With the money that her late husband still had left bequeathed to her, she can start a new life.

I happen to think it would make a superb film.

The original sketch is now relegated to my scraps somewhere if anyone would like to see it. Helpful feedback is welcomed.

Excellent work and great backstory!
:iconvulcanknight:
She looks beautiful like a quad amputee, and with her burn scars. She reflects what the different beauty means, something special.

The beauty is really something strange and abstract, very surprising, and very tricky sometimes, but is great and marvelous, in all of it's forms.

Thanks (though I am concerned that she merely looks sunburnt). I like this one better than the B+W because I put a bit more chub on her. The sketch woman looked far too exiguous for my taste, but she did have more of the vulnerable look that I was going for. What do you think?

I'm a God-damned pervert
and I'm God-damned proud of it

I think she looks very good in her shape and colors. And you did a nice work, so dont press yourself.

Good luck.
